• Personal Ancestral File ("PAF", for short) from familysearch.org is amazing free genealogy software to input your data, organize  it, import and export data, add notes, pictures, sound clips, even create a website with the click of a mouse! Go to FamilySearch.org and click on Order/Download Products, then Software Downloads - Free.

• Ancestry.com has free genealogy software too, although it is more limited.

• Irfanview is a great free program to browse images or convert single images or whole folders of images.
